In this 5-week session we will explore different approaches actors use to create characters that are different from themselves. We will begin by exploring how each of us presents ourselves in the world, and what character "types" we fall into "naturally". We will then play with physical, vocal, and psychological techniques to create a character of your choice.* Within a playful and caring environment, this class will be an excellent way to open yourself to new ideas of what you are capable of, as well as to learn to make bold choices, no matter what character you want to play.
*Come with some ideas for characters you might like to try from plays, film, TV, novels, or life if possible! (Not required).
